How To Murder Time – Doctor Who

This week we are looking at the latest season of Doctor Who (major spoilers avoided). Is the darling of UK Scifi as good as people say? Is the break next year a good idea? Listen to almost find out.

I finally got around to listen to this.

I’ve not watched much Dr Who at all, but it is one of those things I’m quite certain I should watch. What little I have seen I liked: BBC has a great knack for producing campy, quirky fun stuff that feels a little smarter than the standard US shows.

My biggest problem is this: Should I start drom the start, that is the first original series? Or where? Any tips on this would be greatly appreciated.

The safe way is to pick a doctor and start with him. You can always go back and fill in his past, so I would recommend any of the last three depending on how long you want to spend catching up to “now”.

The ‘complete series’ dvd sets aren’t very expensive at play.com, so you could check one or two out if you’d like.

There are also seperate episodes available from way back when Tom Baker was the doctor. It’s very slow though compared to current standards ;) .
