How To Murder Time – Homebrew

This time we have been murdering time by making wine. In 7 days. Sounds great doesn’t it? Bet you are curious as to why Jon can no longer see colours too.

    I’ve been enjoying your new series of “How to Murder Time” And honestly I had a great chuckle over this episode. These new little chats are rather random and bizarre, but over all it’s been really enjoyable. Keep up the great works guys!

      Hey, just a quick thought. Instead of trying wine or beer, try Mead instead. A friend of mine is getting into the home brew hobby but he’s starting off with Mead because apparently it’s a lot easier to start with and much less prone to failure. Apparently the first issue with doing true home brew is that you need everything to be ultra-sterilized. Mead though, is a lot more tolerant and less error pone. Check that out.

    It sounds like your “Ikea style” homebrew is a bit like powerlevelling your own alcohol. You get the bottle with none of the flavour, anecdote or experience of regular levelling.

    Ok don’t give up on winemaking! Beer is fun too, but unless you invest in a CO2 system, its way more work then making wine, and you have to store 40 bottles of beer for weeks, which is a pain.

    I’ve been making wine for 11yrs now and its both easy and fun, and have been working off the same directions for all that time – 6 sentences written on the back of an envelope given to me by a coworker over a decade ago : p 20lbs of seasonal non-citrus fruit (picked from a neighbors tree/bush), 10lbs of store bought grapes, crush, add water/sugar to bring to 5 gallons, wait 5 days then strain thru cheesecloth into a bucket and transfer to a 6gal glass carboy and then watch it ferment for 3-4 weeks! The only additives are organic, and are used to help the yeast, break down the fruit into juice, stop the fermentation, and clean the bottles. You will get 20-25 bottles of wine for $30-$40 (US).
