This time we are looking at Black Prophecy, the space MMO from Reakktor Media.
How well does this space sim stack up against the competition? Is there even any competition for it?

Pretty much in agreement with you here – the Prologue part was great to play through and then goes into the PvP skirmish and generic PvE mission dispenser approach.
There is a bit more variation to these PvE missions as you level up and go to different stations, which unlocks at various levels.
The level ranges you see depends on the points you have put into your stats.
I played to level 12-13ish I think and while there is some addeded varation to the missions it is much rinse & repeat.
There may be more story-oriented content hiding somewhere, at least some of the “the making of…” material for the game have indicated that there is more dialogue, voice-over acting etc than would be covered by the prologue and the generic missions.
But it may be a Tortage-and-the-rest-ofthe-game thing with a few bits & pieces spread out. The story foundation is quite good I think, so it would have been nice to see that explored a bit more.
