What’s this? A podcast? Surely not.

Wait, does this mean the podcast is back? In that case, cool!

Liking the focus and shorter show length!

I don’t think of the combat in Batman as a quicktime event – I’d define a QTE as a series of button prompts that replace the normal control scheme: If Lara Croft requires me to press A, B, then LMB to dodge past a corridor of spinning blades, its a QTE, (and a lazy one,) because I already have a set of controls to make her run and jump. If timed button pushing is already the core mechanic, then it’s fine with me. Plus there’s a huge amount of depth and complexity to Batman’s combat beneath the simple control scheme, which becomes apparent the moment you get your arse handed to you in the combat challenges!

As for the steath bits: Arkham Asylum is the best Predator game they’ve never made. If the Predator franchise ever recovers from the awful AvP movies, the devs of the next game should took a long hard look at it.

    Happy dance!!

Good to hear you back :) I’m hoping the format less restrained to games will make you feel less guilty about going off on random tangents during the show, it was always some of the better bits!

Yaaaah! Welcome back guys, what a delightful surprise this morning as I notice it was on my iPod without me evening noticing I had downloaded it.

It’s great to hear you guys chatting again and it’s not like there’s not been a ton of news to talk about as well! Keep up the great work guys and it’s fantastic to hear you both again.

You needed a holiday, we saw that. I’m glad that’s resulted in you guys getting recharged again to do a new podcast. Keep it up.

Good to hear you folks back again. Two of my other main podcasts have shuttered their doors so this was a welcome surprise. I’m interested to see where the new format takes you, and I never thought that you guys should remain tied to games. Heck, I listen to Car Talk and I have little or no interest in mechanics anymore, it’s all about the personalities.

Welcome back… missed you guys… listening to see what I think of the new format of Podcast 2.0

Seriously grateful you guys are back. Although you couldve told me that before I redownloaded all the old episodes…did you know there is a paradox in there? Werid huh…

  15. Lagspike

Guys I am really loving the new show format, it’s really nice to hear you enthusiastically talk about a topic for just the right amount of time.

    This is great..

Naturally the comic nerd in me needed to pipe up here.

I think the reason this game did so well where as other licensed games didn’t is that seems to be the first game to be built around batman rather than a game with a license shoe horned in.

Sure it adopts a lot of tricks from other games, but in the right places. The story is original and doesn’t upset fans because it doesn’t mess with canon or context and makes good use of a simple few characters.

The bosses troubled me a little, when I think about how that could have been done differently I struggled to think what happens in Batman books elsewhere and normally Batman foils a plot and there sort of is mini boss fights along the way and if you think about the last joker/batman movie their was a joker boss fight after batman made his way in to the building and through the guards just after solving the prisoner on the boat puzzle section of the story.

I’m a HUUUUUGE batman fan and this didn’t disappoint.

I’d love to suggest a few comics for you to read as a topic for a show, following on from this if you wanted.

Really great to listen to you guys in a new fresh way.

    Your pal, Shutty

Nice to have you back. You guys need your own satellite radio show (and get paid). Thanks for coming back. Also can you re-post the space mice space cats game review you did years ago on your original show or at least tell me what episode it was on and where i can find it. I found it LOL funny. Thanks again for coming back .. great show as always.

Ah, that would be Chu Chu Rocket on the dreamcast. I’ll have to dig back a bit to find which episode that was. I’ve been meaning to catalogue all those episodes anyway!
